Protect Siesta Key is a Florida not-for-profit organization formed by Siesta Key residents to advocate for public safety, health and quality of life of residents, property owners, and visitors of our barrier island.

Our Initiatives
Protecting our Comprehensive Plan
The laws outlined in our Comprehensive Plan are designed to safeguard the interests of the Siesta Key community. We are committed to advocating for the enforcement of these laws during public meetings, ensuring that the rights and well-being of our citizens are prioritized.
Defend
Siesta Key
Before forming Protect Siesta Key, two board members, Ramirez and Sax, successfully sued Sarasota County for violating the laws outlined in our Comprehensive Plan. If necessary, we will pursue legal action again.
Monitor our
Government
Siesta Key advocates, including PSK board members and volunteers, have actively participated in Sarasota County Commission meetings to ensure the protection of our beloved community. We will continue to diligently monitor County public meeting agendas for any topics that may pose a threat to our way of life.
Hurricane Preparedness
At PSK, we understand the challenges our community faces after experiencing four significant flooding events in 2024, including two devastating hurricanes. We are committed to supporting our residents by providing a comprehensive list of resources to aid in recovery efforts. Additionally, we offer valuable information on hurricane preparedness to help ensure our community is better equipped for the future. Together, we can rebuild and strengthen our community.
Community Outreach
Join us in our mission to protect our beautiful barrier island! We organize clean-up drives along our major roadways and beaches, providing educational information and awareness campaigns to unite our community. Together, we can make a impact and preserve our Key.
